Do all visitors have to pay for an animal experience slot or farm visit?
All visitors attending the farm must have a valid booking, even if they are not directly participating in a booked experience.
Can I walk around the farm after an experience?
Unfortunately, experiences do not include access to the wider farm or other animals, as these areas require separate supervision to ensure the safety of both visitors and animals. We do offer a dedicated farm visit experience for those who wish to explore more of the farm.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, all visits must be booked in advance to ensure we can provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Are your experiences private or shared?
This may vary depending on the experience. Some sessions may be shared with other guests unless a private booking is arranged.
Are your experiences suitable for children?
Many of our experiences are suitable for children, but age restrictions may apply depending on the activity. Please check the details when booking or contact us for guidance.
Do children need to be supervised?
Yes, all children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times during their visit.
What should I wear?
Due to the rural area; we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for outdoor and farm environments. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as experiences will run in most conditions.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Our experiences usually go ahead in most weather conditions, so please come prepared. In the event of extreme weather, we will contact you to rearrange your booking.
Is there parking available?
Yes, on-site parking is available for visitors. Details will be provided when you book.
Are there toilets on site?
Yes, toilet facilities are available for visitors.
Are there hand washing facilities available?
Yes, hand washing facilities are available, and all visitors are required to wash their hands after contact with the animals.
Can I take photos during my visit?
Yes, photography is encouraged! Please be mindful of staff instructions and animal welfare when taking photos.
Are dogs permitted on the farm?
No, dogs are not permitted on the premises. This policy is in place to ensure the safety, welfare, and comfort of both our animals and visitors.
What if I arrive late?
Late arrivals may miss part or all of their experience, and we may not be able to extend your session. If any party misses their booking entirely refunds will not be applicable.
Can I cancel my booking?
Any cancellations will not generate a refund, Shepherds Retreat will reschedule bookings if given 48 hours notice or more before the booking.
